Billing Customer Service Representative - Southwoods Executive Centre

Southwoods Health is hiring Billing Customer Service Representative to work in our main office in Boardman the Southwoods Executive Centre. The billing customer service representative is the first point of contact for all incoming billing calls for Southwoods Health. Requires courteous, accurate, timely service for resolving patient issues, and making arrangements to collect and receive payments on patient accounts after their services. Also, responsible for the bad debt transfer processes. Responsible at all times for exercising good customer service, prudent judgment, and reason and striving for 100% patient satisfaction at all times.

Essential Duties:
  • Receive all incoming billing calls with courteous, accurate, timely service for resolving patient issues, and making arrangements to collect and receive payments on patient accounts after their services.
  • Educate patients on our various financial assistance opportunities
  • Negotiate settlements with patients in accordance with policy
  • Update requests made by the patient into the system to ensure documentation trail exists
  • Assist patients with payment plans according to the policy
  • Maintain worklists with tasks, payment plans, and pre-bad debt
  • HCAP Program Duties: Analyze those with limited income or struggling to pay their bills in order to settle a suitable monthly payment plan according to the hospital guidelines
  • Receive and analyze financial assistance forms (HCAP) to establish appropriate actions based on policy. Submit accounts that qualify for HCAP, maintaining a log of all HCAP approvals for the auditors, maintaining all supporting documentation per retention guidelines, and ensuring the Federal Poverty Guidelines are reviewed annually and updated on the application accordingly.
  • Delinquent Accounts Duties: Locate and monitor overdue accounts. Review accounts that will be going to collections. Coordinate the review, approval and submission of accounts to collections.
  • Ensure all processes at responsible physician practice maintains compliance with all regulatory agencies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Training or courses in business office activities, computer skills, and medical terminology
  • Effective communication skills, ability to problem solve
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times, strong ethical and moral principles

Full-time. Monday-Friday dayshift.
