Billing Associate

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Billing Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing premium payments, handling various administrative tasks, and ensuring the accurate and timely deposit and transfer of payment information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and resolve customer service requests according to Farm Bureau policies.
  • Process premium payments and mode changes on various Life systems.
  • Apply Life payments viewed online at our remittance provider to update Life policy systems.
  • Process reinstatements according to established guidelines.
  • Handle EFT draws and reversals.
  • Communicate with banks, policyholders, and agents to obtain necessary information.
  • Generate form letters to policy owners and agents in response to inquiries.
  • Perform account balancing, report processing, research, and mail processing.
  • Evaluate and correct error reports.
  • Apply money to the Centralized Cash Receipt system and balance funds.
  • Perform remote deposit of funds for the Life and P/C Companies, balance, and report to Treasury Administration and Accounting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely deposit and transfer of payment information from our remittance vendor.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Progress towards industry education (LOMA 280/281 & LOMA 290/291).

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus 2 years of relevant experience required. Associate's degree preferred.
  • Strong analytical and math skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software including Word and Excel; keyboard skills of 40-45 NWPM.
  • Ability to develop proficiency in company administrative and workflow systems (Life Comm, NextGen, and AWD).
  • Fingerprinting required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
