Experienced Bilingual Litigation Legal Assistant (Spanish-English) - Oakland, CA $60K-$80K DOE

A well-regarded plaintiff-side litigation firm in Oakland is looking for a skilled and bilingual (Spanish-English) Legal Assistant to support its growing legal team. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong civil litigation experience who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is passionate about advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Spanish-English translation during client meetings, and assist with preparation for depositions, mediations, and trials

  • Draft legal documents independently, including complaints, discovery, motions, and mediation briefs

  • File and serve legal documents in state and federal courts (appellate experience a plus)

  • Maintain and organize electronic case files and legal documents

  • Prepare standard correspondence and support routine litigation tasks

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in spoken and written Spanish and English

  • Solid understanding of California civil litigation procedures

  • Able to independently draft pleadings and discovery (propounding and responding)

  • Skilled in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Pro

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and writing abilities

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $60,000-$80,000 annually, depending on experience

Work Environment:
This is a full-time position with immediate availability. Initial training is conducted on-site. After the training period, employees may work remotely up to three days per week, provided they have reliable internet and equipment. On-site work remains available for those who prefer it.
