Job description

Ahmad & Associates, a full-service immigration law firm serving the mid-Atlantic region (MD, VA, PA) is seeking to hire a full-time bilingual paralegal to assist attorneys in their representation of individuals undergoing the U.S. immigration process. Candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish.


The ideal candidate must have a positive, welcoming and professional demeanor as they will be interacting with clients. Experience in immigration law is preferred. Ideal candidate will have some experience preparing applications for family based petitions, asylum applications, 601 waivers, bond motions for immigration court, and NVC processing. Must be competent in Microsoft Office and other basic software. Bachelor's degree is preferred, Associates degree is required.


The job responsibilities include:

Interviewing clients in preparing their applications for various immigration cases;

Providing translations services for Spanish-speaking clients;

Providing support to attorneys, paralegals, and other staff;

Performing general administrative tasks, assembling all filings in preparation for immigration court proceedings and USCIS filings;

Organizing and maintaining client file management;


An ideal candidate possesses:

Fluency in both the Spanish and English languages is required;

. Minimum of Associates degree, Bachelor's degree is preferred;

Prior experience as a paralegal or clerk in the area of immigration law (preferred);

Strong oral and written communication skills;

Dependability and punctuality are both required;

Pay: $52,000 - $57,500 per year

Qualifications

  • Experience in Immigration Law and Legal Document Preparation
  • Knowledge of Immigration Issues and Visa Processing
  • Strong understanding of the legal system
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and another language
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Paralegal certification is a plus
