Job Details
The Human Resources Generalist provides direct HR support to a production-based workforce. This position is responsible for executing a variety of HR functions, including employee relations, compliance, performance management, and HRIS administration. The role requires flexibility, with certain workdays extending into the evening to support night shift personnel. Candidates with prior HR experience in manufacturing or similar environments are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Serve as the primary HR contact for production staff
- Address employee concerns and resolve workplace grievances fairly and consistently
- Support supervisors in addressing performance issues and managing team dynamics
Performance Management
- Facilitate the performance review cycle and guide managers through evaluations and goal setting
- Ensure completion and accuracy of reviews within the HRIS through regular reporting
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all relevant federal, state, and local labor laws
- Conduct periodic audits to uphold compliance and reduce risk
- Manage workers' compensation cases, including claim reporting and coordination with insurers
- Maintain related documentation and oversee return-to-work protocols
Training and Development
- Assist in identifying training needs for production teams
- Support the design and rollout of development programs
HRIS Administration
- Maintain up-to-date employee records in the HRIS
- Train staff on system use as necessary
Onboarding and Offboarding
- Lead onboarding processes, ensuring legal and procedural compliance for all new hires
- Oversee document expiration tracking and follow-up through the HRIS
- Manage offboarding activities to ensure consistency and compliance
Qualifications
Required:
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Flexibility to work late shifts a few days per week
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred:
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification
- Experience supporting HR functions in production or industrial environments
