This position is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience in the branch while meeting all Bank objectives. The Assistant Branch Manager develops new consumer and business relationships to include deposit accounts as well as loan opportunities. The Assistant Branch Manager leads a team of employees to ensure sales, service and operational plans are met by developing, mentoring and coaching employees. Ensures that all branch functions are being completed according to the Bank's standards and procedures. The Assistant Branch Manager should inspire and motivate staff and provide an atmosphere where innovation and creativity are encouraged.
Customer Experience & Operations - Assist customers in opening of accounts. Initiate conversations with customers to offer needs-based cross selling opportunities of products and services. Maintain a strong knowledge of all Bank products and services.
- Prepare loan applications for various consumer lending products including personal, auto, and equity products. Follow through with completed application to closing the loan once approved.
- Refer customers to other business lines for mortgage, commercial lending, merchant services and online channel needs.
- Take ownership of ensuring a positive customer experience throughout each customer interaction.
- Manage the daily sales operations of the branch to include the review of accuracy.
- Responsible for the general maintenance of the facility. Ensure that all security procedures are strictly followed, branch is operationally sound, and satisfactory audits are achieved.
- Contribute to the achievement of Bank objectives and goals.
Team Leadership - Supervise, coach and develop staff regarding sales and service expectations, policies, procedures, products, services, system and transactions. Seek out opportunities to be actively involved in the local community on behalf of the Bank, both individually and as branch team.
- Develop and maintain communication with staff. Facilitate regular one on ones and team meetings to discuss goals, deliver information, resolve issues, etc.
- Work with Branch Manager to prepare and deliver staff performance evaluations that contain accurate and relevant information on employee performance including strengths and challenges during the review period. Maintain staffing schedules to provide appropriate coverage at all times.
- Perform as a team member in allocating, coordinating and participating in the daily work flow.
- Supervise the day to day operational functions of the branch including accurate daily settlement of cash drawers, vaults, ATMs, branch, daily reports and overseeing Banker duties.
- Set a strong example for the team by consistently meeting expectations for attendance and punctuality.
- Assist in training, implementation, and adherence to new policies and procedures.
- Ensure consistent compliance with all Retail and Bank policies, procedures and regulations.
- Maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations, bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
Requirements
- Fluent in Spanish (Written & Oral)
- 2 years of supervisory experience, sales and service experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lead by example and project the vision and image of Centreville Bank.
- Extensive knowledge of current banking environment procedures and regulations.
- Ability to coach, manage staff and lead sales activities.
- Extensive knowledge of bank products, services, policies and procedures.
- Ability to multitask. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, comply with all Federal and State Regulations as well as internal banking procedures.
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- The incumbent will be expected to write routine reports and correspondence.
- He/she will be expected to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
- Possess the ability to travel from branch to branch to work in any Centreville Bank location. Travel is required for training and meetings; must be able to work at any Centreville Bank location as assigned. The hours requested to work may require nights and weekends.
- He / she must possess the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, percentages and discounts.
- He / she must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- The incumbent must possess the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- He/she should possess basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
