Essential Duties and Responsibilities As a Bid Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing existing customer relationships through regular personal visits and systematic follow-ups, which may include some travel.
Your responsibilities will include maintaining comprehensive profiles for each account, which encompass order guides, statements, periodicals, and overall reporting. You will verify pricing and forecasts to ensure accuracy.
Daily communication with operational and purchasing personnel is key to ensuring optimum service to our accounts. You will review accounts for program compliance, develop unique sales approaches, identify customer needs, and drive sales growth.
You will also be responsible for communicating and managing inventory forecasts with customers, cultivating relationships with both existing and potential accounts through meetings and visits.
Managing the product mix to achieve branded goals, coordinating product introductions through stocking agreements, and confirming product deliveries will be essential tasks. Regular communication with customers to update them on performance, introduce new products, share market trends, and ensure satisfaction is crucial.
You will manage proprietary inventory needs, identify delivery requirements, and track operational service levels. Additionally, you will conduct weekly and monthly reviews with the Credit Department to ensure accounts remain within terms.
Attending sales meetings, training sessions, food shows, and conferences as required by management will also be part of your role.
Supervision No direct supervision required.
Relationships Internal: National Sales Directors, Customer Service Representatives, Area VP of National Sales, National Sales management, Accounting, Purchasing, and Operations.
External: Customers.
Qualifications Education/Training: A High School diploma or equivalent is required, while a Bachelor's degree in Business/Marketing is preferred.
Related Experience: A minimum of three years in sales support, sales, customer service, or business experience is required; experience in the foodservice industry is preferred. Proven success in developing and maintaining customer relationships is crucial, along with contract management experience in K12, hospitality, or healthcare. Familiarity with quantitative and qualitative research data is beneficial.
