Job SummaryJob Description - Prepares data analysis and data visualizations that communicate insights for services captured in the electronic health record for Office of Public Health (OPH) Parish Health units (PHUs).
- Analyzes and interprets trends or patterns in data sets to identify areas of improvement and inform operational decisions.
- Organizes and structures data sets to provide ongoing reports related to the mission, vision and goals of quality assurance and quality improvement for OPH parish health units.
- Works directly with the Reports Administrator and Quality team to accomplish the goals set with the Quality Improvement plan;
- Identifies trends, gaps and health inequity to inform and optimize the patient care of populations and help reduce per capita cost of healthcare.
- Prepares data visualizations that communicate actionable insights to stakeholders;
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities, team projects and training interventions;
- Assists in the implementation and adoption of new EHR features or upgrades.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: - Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree plus 3 years of professional experience, or 6 years of professional work experience.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience in ArcGIS, SQL database operations, R Studio, Python, SAS, or Tableau.
- Minimum 3 years professional experience with data extraction from an electronic health record or similar large database.
- Minimum 1 year professional experience with data integration and EHR system interfaces.
- Excellent analytical skills, effective organizational and time management skills.
- Great attention to detail and follow up.
- Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
- Proficient in the use of Zoom, Teams, and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.
DESIRED: - Advanced degree.
- Minimum 4 years professional experience in ArcGIS, SQL database operations, R Studio, Python, SAS, or Tableau.
- Minimum 4 years professional experience with data extraction from an electronic health record or similar large database.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience with data integration and EHR system interfaces.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Certified Health Data Analyst - CHDA).
