Benefits Specialist - Full-Time Hybrid in Herndon, VA
We're currently hiring a Benefits Specialist on behalf of a trusted client. This is a full-time, hybrid role (2 days on-site) based in Herndon, VA, offering competitive pay and benefits.
About the Role:
The Benefits Specialist will play a key role in supporting a variety of HR functions, with a primary focus on benefits administration. This includes managing health and welfare programs, assisting with leave management, supporting open enrollment, and acting as a liaison between employees, vendors, and internal departments. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day administration of health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance programs
- Support leave programs (FMLA, STD, LTD) and 401(k) administration
- Partner with payroll and vendors to ensure smooth processing and compliance
- Provide guidance to employees on benefits-related questions
- Maintain benefit records and documentation in the HRIS system (UKG)
- Assist in onboarding and benefits enrollment for new hires
- Contribute to benefits communications, resources, and compliance efforts
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
- 2+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on benefits preferred
- Familiarity with federal and state employment laws
- Experience using HRIS systems - UKG strongly preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
