Our client, a dynamic organization in the benefits administration sector, is seeking a Benefits Specialist to join their team. As a Benefits Specialist, you will be part of the Human Resources department supporting employee engagement and satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively, which will align successfully in the organization. Job Title: Benefits Specialist Location: Chester, New York Pay Range: $22 - $29 per hour What's the Job?
• Assist employees and their dependents with various benefit plans while serving as back-up to the Employee Benefits Senior Manager.
• Administer benefit programs and oversee the disability plan.
• Conduct benefit orientations and process benefits enrollments/changes, employee terminations, and status changes in the HR system.
• Work with benefits vendors and coordinate wellness initiatives such as blood drives and walking challenges.
• Research and resolve benefit issues, including claims assistance, and assist with Open Enrollment and ACA compliance. What's Needed?
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of HR experience required; 1-2 years of benefits experience preferred.
• Knowledge of benefits and claims processes, as well as HR benefit laws such as FMLA, ADA, and COBRA.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher, with the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. What's in it for me?
