The Benefits Analyst provides benefits support to employees. The primary responsibility is the administration of employee benefits in all company operations. This position develops, recommends, and implements approved, new or modified plans and employee benefits policies and supervises the administration of existing plans.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
Coordinate all Leaves of Absences related to FMLA, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability, and Worker's Compensation including communicating with LOA Employees, their Managers, HR Generalists, Third-Party-Administrators, HRIS and Payroll Maintain a strong understanding of benefit plan designs including both Health & Welfare and 401(k) Retirement plans Manages Company Relocation program Assist with general employee benefit inquires Monitor employee coverage changes, including Qualifying Life Events, to ensure accuracy and validity Receive and process all benefit forms not maintained in on-line Benefits System Prepare and verify calculation of all benefit invoicing Assist in maintaining timely and accurate benefits content on employee intranet website, as well as on-line Benefits System Conducts New Hire Orientations and Open Enrollment Seminars Coordinate Open Enrollment Generate employee benefit statistical data and information upon request Perform general benefit audits and periodic review of plans Participate in special benefits projects related to open enrollment and year-end testing including annual audits Partner with HR department and Management Groups Supports the Company's Safety Programs Acts as an ambassador and champion of the company culture, ethics, and values Performs any other functions and duties assigned and necessary for the smooth and efficient operation.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma, Associates degree in human resources, business or related disciplines preferred Two (2) to four (4) years of benefits and leave administration experience SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR or GPHR Certifications preferred Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced work environment.
Demonstrated experience exercising sound judgement, good decision-making, and analytical skills Demonstrated experience presenting data, instruction and other related training to large and small groups Computer/Communication Skills:
Proficient use of MS Office programs: Word, Excel, and Outlook Proficient use of HRIS and related software Ability to get along and work with diverse personalities; tactful, mature, flexible Prioritizes and models good communication skills; follows up, timely responses, proactive and positive in approach Moderate to high levels in reading comprehension, writing, and speaking in English; active listening; attention to detail; critical thinking; creative problem solving; complex problem solving; and judgment.
