Summary

Position Summary

The Outpatient Behavior Technician - Developmental Disorders will work in the outpatient clinic of the Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders to provide behavioral support to youth and adult patients. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary clinic that includes psychiatry, case management and therapists. This position is responsible for facilitating safe and comfortable visits for patients and their families by providing visual aids, calming strategies, and behavioral intervention. The Outpatient Behavior Technician - Developmental Disorders will also support patients with blood draws in the clinic phlebotomy station. This position requires excellent communication and customer service skills, flexibility, and a foundation of knowledge in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field.
  • License/Certifications: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) (provided by organization); Current CPR and Safety Care certification (provided by organization)
  • Experience: 1+ year of experience working with youth and/or adults with developmental disorders preferred.
  • Familiarity with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Must display strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and maturity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt readily to change, work flexibly within a team, and work within a fast paced environment
