The Ripley-Ohio-Dearborn (ROD) Special Education Cooperative has an opening for a Behavior Technician to provide direct behavior intervention to students and support ROD Behavior Services in member schools. ROD is an inter-local special education cooperative that provides special education and related services in eight school districts which are comprised of the Community School Districts of Jac-Cen-Del, Milan, South Ripley, Rising Sun-Ohio County, Lawrenceburg, and South Dearborn. The Behavior Technician will work in only selected locations. Responsibilities: Provide direct IEP services to students as assigned including in 1:1 and small group settings. Serve as a short-term program paraprofessional to support unanticipated behavioral needs (e.g., move-in student, escalating issues, etc.) Support the ROD Behavior Consultants with data collection, monitoring, modeling, physical structure set-up and changes, etc. throughout the cooperative. Assist with professional development for school based Behavior Technicians, paraprofessionals, and other school staff. Collaborate with Special Education Teachers and other related service providers Perform other duties as assigned to support special education services in the ROD cooperative. Job Qualifications: Maintain and acquire technical knowledge by attending required trainings Be able to lift up to 50 pounds Assume and maintain a variety of postures (e.g., kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time. Keep an active driver's license as driving to schools and conferences is a requirement. Be willing and able to utilize quick body movements in the course of working with children with challenging behaviors (e.g., transporting students, blocking, guided compliance, and physical restraints) ROD is a member of the Southeastern Indiana School Insurance Trust offering competitive medical and dental insurance plans.
