Stray Pirate and PROWL are two immersive cocktail bars located in the Downtown Las Vegas Arts District. Stray Pirate, a tribute to our love of dogs, blends pirate adventure with fresh tropical cocktails. PROWL offers a jungle-inspired escape where craft and curiosity meet.

BARTENDER POSITION SUMMARY

Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent guest service while preparing beverages for Guests and Cocktail Servers in a fast-paced work environment. This includes learning all cocktail, beer, and wine lists to better assist our Guests as needed. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, detail-oriented and personable.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Set up bars for operation in accordance to all checklists.

Performs opening/running/closing side duties according to policies.

Prepare cocktails for Cocktail Servers and Guests using approved recipes.

Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner.

Interact with Guests in a manner which makes them feel comfortable and welcome.

Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and able to multi-task and communicate effectively in a high energy establishment.

Provide excellent guest service in a high-volume setting.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Follow all SNHD requirements

Monitor proper par levels of all supplies at assigned bars.

Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to immediate management.

Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages.

Responsible for the security and timely return of all assigned keys.

Follow the sequence of service specific to the department.

Observe and direct actions of Barbacks and to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible.

Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change.

Review and comprehend all necessary documentation.

Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able to:

Withstand prolonged walking, standing, bending, pushing, climbing and kneeling.

Work indoors and outdoors and be exposed to environmental factors such as excessive noise, seasonal heat and cold, hard to reach and unclean work areas, cigarette smoke, and hazardous materials and equipment.

Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to point-of-sales terminals, carts, dish machines, key systems and all bar equipment.

Lift up to 50 pounds of ice, garbage or bar supplies; lift kegs weighing approximately 200 pounds (with another Team Members assistance), and moving carts weighing in excess of 400 pounds throughout shift (with another Team Members assistance).

Effectively and efficiently move around bar area.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent Guest service skills and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.

Professional appearance and demeanor.

Must be over 21 years of age.

Must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English.

Excellent oral communication skills.

Ability to work weekends, holidays and a variety of shifts.

Must have High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Must be able to obtain and upkeep any required work cards (Health/Sheriff's/TAM Cards).

Must have 1-year+ experience (minimum) with cash handling.

Must have 1-year+ experience (minimum) in the hospitality industry.

Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks. The skills and abilities necessary for effective performance within this position are typically acquired through five (5) years bartending or similar experience or through progressive promotion and training.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

Attend required training sessions.

Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.

Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages.

Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.

Consult Standard Operating Policy Manuals for guidance.

Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management.

Reports to Lead Bartenders & Managers.
