As a Barista, you will be the friendly face of our café, delivering exceptional customer service and expertly crafted beverages. You'll prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and light snacks while maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Your positive attitude, attention to detail, and passion for great coffee will help create a memorable experience for every guest.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Greet customers warmly and create a welcoming environment.
2. Take customer orders accurately, including special requests and dietary preferences.
3. Provide menu information, answer questions about ingredients, and make product recommendations.
4. Handle customer feedback and resolve any concerns or complaints professionally.
5. Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, such as drip coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and specialty drinks, following standardized recipes.
6. Prepare and serve light food items, such as pastries, sandwiches, and baked goods, as needed
7. Ensure all beverages and food items meet quality and presentation standards
8. Process payments accurately using cash registers or point-of-sale (POS) systems, including handling cash, credit, and mobile payments.
9. Upsell menu items and promote specials or new products to customers.
10. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the barista station, equipment, and customer seating areas.
11. Regularly clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and brewing equipment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
12. Restock supplies such as coffee beans, milk, cups, napkins, and other essentials as needed

Requirements
1. High school diploma (or equivalent)
2. Valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit is required before hire
3. Valid New Mexico Food Handler Certificate is required before hire
4. Punctuality and reliability are critical
5. Ability to work proactively to ensure the best possible guest experience
6. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays required
7. Ability to work effectively in an environment where pace may vary
8. Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, mid-day shifts, weekends, and holidays.
9. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, sit, reach, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, and push/pull/lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
10. Role requires the ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, auditory focus, visual attention.
