Cooks are responsible for preparing and serving meals for residents and staff. In addition, this position maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary condition in the kitchen and dining areas. Also performs regular preventative maintenance on kitchen and dining area equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Understand banquet serving and prep.
- Basic understands of cooking in large volume.
- The ability to read and follow a receipt.
- Organize, label and date of all dry storage, coolers, and freezer areas.
- Continuously inspects kitchen and dining areas for safety hazards and takes corrective measures immediately as needed, or reports needed repairs to facilities.
- Cleaning of kitchen and dining area to maintain healthy and sanitary environment.
Qualifications: - 1-2 years' experience as a cook/ line cook or banquet cook.
- Possess professional food handler's card.
- Must be able to fluently read, write and communicate in English.
- Great customer service skills.
- Ability to work well with a diverse population.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, reach, kneel, stand, stoop, crouch, climb and squat. Reach and grasp objects (including above head and below waistline).
- Comfortably physically able to perform all aspects of the job.
