Description

PURPOSE:

Operate forklift competently and safely.

FUNCTION:
  • Operate fork lift to load and unload trucks and bales as needed to assure production quotas and deadlines are met.
  • Work performed is within acceptable quality standards.
  • General housekeeping and safety.
  • Performs other related activities as directed by the Manager/Assistant Manager and Lead Worker.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Operate fork lift as instructed in a safe manner as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks, pallets and bales as needed.
  • Complete Daily checklist for the fork lift truck, baler, and the trash compactor.
  • Performs production activities assigned by Assistant Manager/Manager and Lead Worker.
  • Quality and material control.
  • General housekeeping and safety.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; push or pull.
  • Must be able to occasionally, kneel, squat, and climb.
  • Must be able to regularly stoop, bend, reach tum and twist body and lift and carry up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Other related duties as directed by the Manager/Assistant Manager and Lead Worker.

RELATIONS:

Establish and maintain relations with the following:
  • The Manager/Assistant Manager and Lead Worker for the coordination of efforts.
  • Other workers in organization, assists in work, perform production activities and related work.

STANDARDS FOR MEASURING PERFORMANCE:
  • Degree to which standards are reached.
  • Degree to which respect and confidence of co-workers is established.
  • Quality, quantity, and timeliness in the performance of assigned tasks.
  • The manner in which one's conduct reflects the high standards of morals and integrity expected of all Goodwill associates.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and respond to special requests and the desires of management.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred, but on-the-job training is provided.
  • Must be able to pass Fork Lift Certification.
  • Must be able to complete paperwork as required.
  • Must have good work habits, such as acceptable attitude and punctuality.
  • Must respond appropriately to supervision.
  • Must possess adequate physical endurance to work at industrial standards.
