Backup and Recovery Administrator with Security Clearance

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Backup and Recovery Administrator to join a National Security Contract located in Annapolis Junction, MD through 100% full onsite presence . The Backup and Recovery Administrator will manage and maintain storage infrastructure for a federal client supporting mission-critical defense systems. The Backup and Recovery Administrator is responsible for storage administration, provisioning, troubleshooting, and security, with a strong emphasis on Tivoli experience. Responsibilities of the Backup and Recovery Administrator include: Storage Management: oversee storage area networks (SAN), Fibre Channel, RAID configurations, and storage provisioning to ensure optimal performance Backup & Recovery: ensure data protection, off-site storage, and recovery procedures are well-documented and maintained Monitoring & Optimization: identify performance bottlenecks and implement strategies for storage efficiency Security & Compliance: enforce access controls, encryption, and data protection mechanisms while complying with federal security standards Collaboration & Troubleshooting: work with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve storage-related issues Documentation & Planning: create standard operating procedures (SOPs) and forecast storage capacity needs Qualifications of the Backup and Recovery Administrator include: 7+ years of experience in storage administration or similar 5+ years of experience in Tivoli (IBM TSM) Experience with storage infrastructure management (SAN, Fibre Channel, RAID configurations) Backup and recovery expertise (data protection, off-site storage, disaster recovery) Experience with storage tools & frameworks, such as EMC Unisphere & IBM storage manager Previous history with security & compliance; access controls, encryption, and DOD security standards Background in troubleshooting & optimization, performance monitoring, and issue resolution Active secret clearance Compensation for the Backup and Recovery Administrator includes: Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000 depending on experience Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k Plan, Holidays, PTO, sick leave as required by law
