Your work will then have a direct impact, monitoring the health of crops and tracking endangered species to detecting infrastructure issues like impending bridge failures.
The Role:
- Design, deliver, and maintain systems that integrate multiple Earth Observation service providers, expose APIs, and ensure high uptime and fault tolerance.
- Collaborate with product, design, and operations teams to gather requirements.
- Partner with fellow engineers to architect, develop, and scale the product, keeping operational considerations in mind.
- Mentor and support your teammates.
- Drive ongoing efficiency and reliability improvements to enhance system quality.
What We Are Looking For:
- Must be a US citizen eligible for government Security Clearance.
- STEM degree (preferably in Computer Science) with strong computer science fundamentals.
- Several years of industry experience with solid software design and development skills.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Autonomy and proactivity with the ability to own problems end-to-end with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable managing large data sets using techniques like partitioning and sharding.
- Experience developing, documenting, maintaining, and integrating REST APIs.
- Interest in working with Python, Postgres, geospatial and temporal datasets, and image manipulation.
- Experience with automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with no manual testing processes is a plus.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
- Experience in SaaS product companies developing and supporting 24/7 services is a plus.
- Experience with multinational remote teams is a plus.
- Preference for early-stage projects is a plus.
- Interest in the Earth Observation industry is a plus.
