Job Description
lead the data engineering team by implementing robust and complicated data pipelines.
Senior Data Engineers model data using modern tools and techniques and apply data engineering best practices to the production and maintenance of analytics code.
When evaluating a candidate, looking for:
- Focus on build and maintain analysis-ready data infrastructure
- Creating reporting/visualizations that drive actionable insights
- Lead and guide a team of data and analytics engineers
Data Analysis and Reporting
Perform exploratory analysis, identify trends and patterns and draw conclusions from data sets
Extract complex data from multiple sources into usable and meaningful reports and analysis
Insurance Industry expertise
Experience with insurance specific software such as Guidewire is highly valued
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation
- Proficiency in data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes SC1
- Experience working with Azure cloud (ADF, ADLS, Data Fabric, etc.) SC2
- Experience with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau
- Knowledge of database architectures and data modeling
- Familiar with software engineering practices such as version control with Git, Testing, and CI/CD
Data Modeling Skills:
- Proficiency with modern data modeling concepts (tools and techniques)
- Proficiency in data profiling, data mapping, data standardization and integration concepts
- Experience in cleaning and transforming raw data into consumable information by applying business logic
- Data Analysis Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to identify trends and patterns in data
