Job Title: Data Analyst II
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Reports to Data Analyst Manager

Job Summary:
As a Data Analyst II with a primary focus on automation and Azure, you will play a crucial role in streamlining data processes and enhancing the efficiency of our data operations. You will leverage your expertise in Azure Data Factory and other automation tools to import and manage files, optimize SQL code, and support the organization's data-driven decision-making. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with PHI and HIPAA regulations, protecting sensitive information and maintaining data privacy.

Key Responsibilities:

Automation and Data Integration:
  • Develop and implement automated workflows using Azure Data Factory and other relevant tools to streamline data import and processing tasks.
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow and integration across the organization.
SQL Code Optimization:
  • Review, analyze, and improve SQL code to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify areas for optimization and implement best practices in SQL coding.
Ad Hoc Reporting:
  • Respond to one-off report requests by gathering requirements, extracting and analyzing data, and delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and tailored to meet the specific needs of the requestor.
Daily Operations Support:
  • Assist colleagues and team members with day-to-day data operations, troubleshooting issues, and providing guidance on data-related matters.
  • Act as a resource for data-related inquiries and support the continuous improvement of data processes.
Compliance and Data Privacy:
  • Ensure all data handling and processing activities comply with PHI and HIPAA regulations.
  • Advocate for data privacy and security best practices within the organization and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive information.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, with a strong focus on automation and data integration.
  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory and other automation tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, with the ability to optimize code and improve query performance.
  • Familiarity with PHI and HIPAA regulations and experience working with sensitive data.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with other Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, or Azure Databricks.
  • Knowledge of other data visualization and reporting tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Certification in Azure or related technologies.
Working Conditions:
  • Will work in high volume work environment that may require overtime as necessary

  • Communicating in person, through e-mail, telephone, and written correspondence
  • Standing, stooping, pushing, reaching and pulling may be required
