World Services is seeking a knowledgeable and strategic Cloud Architect with 5+ years of experience at the mid to senior level in cloud architecture and engineering. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in designing, planning, and integrating cloud and virtualization technologies to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient solutions. This role requires strong technical leadership in assessing business needs and translating them into cloud-first solutions across multiple delivery and deployment models.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud-based and virtualized solutions that meet evolving business requirements.
- Provide detailed guidance for selecting cloud platforms, hardware, software, and implementation tools.
- Develop and support strategies for cloud migration, including application and data migration techniques and tools.
- Evaluate and adopt appropriate cloud deployment models (public, private, hybrid, community) based on use-case and compliance needs.
- Support multiple cloud service delivery models including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Leverage automation tools and methodologies to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability of infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain virtualization technologies including hypervisors, containers, and virtual infrastructure management systems.
- Ensure cloud infrastructure aligns with security best practices by implementing secure architectures, managing access controls, automating security checks in CI/CD pipelines, addressing vulnerabilities through patching, and supporting compliance with organizational and industry standards.
- Manage self-service provisioning tools, auto-scaling, and performance optimization across cloud environments.
- Stay up-to-date with cloud technology trends and continuously assess emerging solutions for potential adoption.
- Provide documentation and architecture diagrams to support operational transparency and planning.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture roles.
- Certification Azure Solutions Associate (exam AZ-104)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams.
- Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification Azure Solutions Architect (exam AZ-305)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps principles and implementation.
- Experience in performance tuning and cost optimization for cloud environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Job Type: Part time with optional full time
Pay: $60-65 per hour
Work Hours: between the hours of 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Eastern) Monday through Friday excluding Federal holidays
