Overview:
A government organization is launching a cloud-based call center and anonymous tip line using AWS Connect and is seeking an experienced AWS Connect Engineer with strong data expertise to lead the initiative. This role offers the opportunity to build infrastructure from the ground up, working closely with non-technical stakeholders and driving data strategy using AWS services.
You'll work in a high-impact, low-internal-resources environment where your AWS and data skills will be central to the success of the project. The ideal candidate brings deep experience with Connect, QuickSight, Athena, Glue, and Data Lake architectures, and can operate independently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Architect and implement an AWS Connect environment, including anonymous tip line functionality (e.g., caller ID masking) and customized CCP/Workspace.
• Build complex dashboards and reports using Amazon QuickSight to track call center activity, trends, and performance.
• Design and manage a Data Lake for large, loosely structured datasets.
• Use AWS Athena for SQL-based querying and transformation of structured data.
• Develop ETL pipelines using AWS Glue, storing and accessing data via Amazon S3.
• Automate data processes and system interactions using AWS Lambda and APIs.
• Serve as the primary AWS technical resource, collaborating with stakeholders who have limited AWS knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
• Extensive experience with Amazon QuickSight: Proven ability to create complex, dynamic dashboards and data visualizations.
• Strong background in data modeling, structuring, and transformation within a Data Lake environment.
• Hands-on experience with:
o AWS Athena
o AWS Glue
o Amazon S3
o AWS Lambda
• Customization of AWS Connect CCP/Workspace, including call routing and UI
configuration.
• Comfort working with APIs and building integrations to support data workflows.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead initiatives independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working on state, local, or federal government contracts.
• Background in setting up secure or anonymous communication systems.
• Understanding of the AWS ecosystem and services beyond the core stack listed above.
Why This Role?
• Be the technical lead on a major government initiative from the ground up.
• Work on a high-visibility, public-facing project that supports community safety.
• Join a flexible, remote-first team with meaningful ownership and impact.
• Help shape the organization's use of AWS and data strategy in a resource-constrained but agile environment.
