Vaco Dallas is seeking qualified candidates for an AWS Connect Engineer, contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a local client based in the healthcare industry. Our client is growing and seeking to expand their AWS Contact Center Team. These positions will be required to work onsite 4-days per week and candidates must be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth market. Candidates must also be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States, as our client is unable to sponsor at this time.

Job Title: AWS Connect Engineer

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Worksite Schedule: 4-days onsite (Mon - Thur) 1-day remote (Fri)

Worksite Location: Addison, Texas

W2 Hourly Rate On Contract: $55.00 - $65.00 (W2) based on experience and credentials

Salary Conversion Target: Based on experience up to $115,000 - $135,000 + full benefits

Job Scope:
  • Design and implement AWS Connect-based cloud contact center solutions with a focus on scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Integrate AWS Connect with various AWS services like Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, SNS, SQS, and more to create automated, cloud-native solutions.
  • Develop customized contact flows, AI-powered automations, and real-time analytics features that optimize the customer experience.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of AWS Connect solutions through logging, insights, and real-time monitoring tools.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as PCI-DSS and GDPR, applying security best practices in all AWS Connect implementations.
  • Working within a team of software engineers, conducting code reviews, and promoting a culture of technical excellence.
  • Work closely with product teams, business stakeholders, and UX designers to ensure technology initiatives align with organizational and user needs.
  • Build and maintain integrations with CRM systems, third-party APIs, and other enterprise applications to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployment workflows using Terraform.
  • Leverage AI/ML services to integrate chatbots, speech recognition, and sentiment analysis to improve customer interactions.
  • Manage the integrity and performance of deployed AWS Connect solutions, ensuring rapid issue resolution to maintain high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and contribute to incident response strategies to maintain high system uptime.
  • Promote Agile best practices, including efficient sprint planning and continual process improvement within the team.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • 6-10 years in software engineering, focusing on cloud-based development and service-oriented architecture.
  • At least 3-5 years of hands-on experience with AWS services, particularly AWS Connect.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, especially within AWS Connect environments.
  • Expertise in AWS Identity & Access Management (IAM) for managing users, roles, groups, and policies in the context of AWS resources.
  • Proficiency in backend development using languages like Python, Node.js, Java, or C .
  • Familiarity with VoIP, SIP, WebRTC, and contact center technologies is advantageous.
  • Solid experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Proven ability to implement effective code review practices to enhance code quality and encourage continuous learning within the team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (8+ years).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, or AWS Cloud Practitioner)
  • Prior experience in the healthcare industry is a plus
