General Summary: Location: Hybrid (3 days per week at our Portland, ME, Chattanooga, TN, Columbia, SC, or Atlanta, GA campus) The AVP, DevOps leads the strategic design and implementation of DevOps, CI/CD, Quality Assurance, and GenAI for Coding & Testing solutions, aligning technical architectures and solutions across business portfolios to meet business goals. This role collaborates with senior architects and technical leaders, ensuring frameworks and standards support scalable, maintainable solutions. With expertise in DevOps, Test Automation, and emerging technology trends, the AVP guides a technology roadmap that adapts to changing demands with minimal disruption, leading cross-functional teams and influencing strategic decisions within the organization. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred or equivalent relevant experience. Strong expertise in Azure, GitHub DevOps, and CI/CD platforms, with preferred knowledge of Octopus Deploy, SonarQube, Veracode, and Test Automation tools. Hands-on experience with GitHub Copilot or similar AI-driven coding tools. Deep understanding of the systems development lifecycle, IT infrastructure, and software development methodologies. Solid grasp of risk assessment, change management, and configuration management practices. Ability to communicate architectural concepts to both technical and business audiences persuasively. Knowledge of Agile/Lean development methodologies and continuous deployment practices to support enterprise architecture. Key Responsibilities: Drive the successful implementation of DevOps, CI/CD, Quality Assurance, Test Automation, and GenAI platforms, ensuring compliance and governance. Mentor Principal and Senior employees within the domain to foster best practices in architecture and skills development. Manage domain-specific architects as needed, aligning with technology and business strategy. Partner with Product Owners and Business Consultants to integrate digital maturity and DevOps strategies. Resolve architectural challenges by prioritizing and executing sprints, updating roadmaps, and portfolios as needed. Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to ensure efficient, standardized, and high-quality technology implementations. Oversee the quality and performance of architectural designs, ensuring stability and scalability in applications across the enterprise. Evaluate and test emerging technologies through prototyping and vendor assessments to support business goals. Coordinate tool and technology selection, risk assessment, and sunsetting processes with technical and business stakeholders. Ensure DevOps, Quality Assurance, and GenAI solutions are agile, operational, and measurable within continuous deployment environments. Identify and assess new technologies, providing updates and insights to leadership to enhance organizational IT capabilities. Monitor IT trends, communicating potential advancements and functionality expansions to key stakeholders. The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience. $133,500.00-$274,100.00 Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
