SUMMARY:

The AVP of Business Services is responsible for overseeing and managing the business services function within the credit union. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to enhance business services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional member service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to, the following;


New Business & Commercial Account Onboarding:

  • Manages the new account onboarding process and Business Relationship Officer in the non-TSB markets.
  • Ensures new account requests are properly interviewed and screened prior to opening for eligibility and potential fraud.
  • Ensure new accounts have proper documentation and compliance with BSA requirements.
  • Works closely with Senior AVP of Member Fraud & Quality Control for guidance and direction on new account issues.
  • Ensures Business Relationship Officer looks for cross-sell opportunities in new business accounts based on opportunities for loan and deposit balances and profitable relationships.
  • Confers with and refers commercial lending opportunities and requests to TSB Market President / Chief Commercial Lending Officer.
  • May assist with commercial account opening in the TSB Market.

Business Account Service & Maintenance:

  • Oversees business account requests and service issues. Research questions and situations to ensure proper resolution.
  • Ensures Business Relationship Officer is well-versed on commercial customer-facing systems and functionality and can assist commercial customers with functionality questions and problems.
  • Confers with internal experts on uncommon questions and issues.
  • Works with AVP Member Experience to implement a survey process of commercial customers to measure satisfaction.

Business And Commercial Account Systems and Software:

  • Internal Owner for Business and Commercial related software and systems.
  • Maintains strong operational understanding of commercial systems, functionality and optional system modules. Also is aware of competitive service offerings.
  • Helps implement new systems, system enhancements, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • May provide training to employees on new systems and system enhancements.

New Business and Commercial Services:

  • Research new systems and services to enhance and streamline commercial workload and processes. Recommend changes to senior leadership.
  • Research new systems and services to deliver new and enhanced commercial service offerings to business clients, with a focus on competitiveness and profitability. Recommend changes to senior leadership.

Mergers & Acquisitions:

  • Acts as key partner in mergers and acquisitions.
  • May act in a variety of responsibilities including systems and data conversion and integration.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The AVP, Business Services, manages 1-2 Small Business Relationship Officers who on board and service small business accounts. The AVP is responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge Of:

  • Business service offerings and the competitive landscape.
  • Regulatory and compliance requirements related to business and commercial services including BSA requirements.
  • Commercial lending processes and systems.
  • Product development and product-line management and measurement.

Ability To:

  • Proficiently operate a PC using the following software applications Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Proficiently operates the Credit Union's financial software to access member accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance business service offerings.
  • Lead and manage staff efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage external vendor relationships and systems.
  • Develop and write policies.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Identify and resolve issues effectively.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities, required to perform the job is acceptable. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Management or equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years' experience demonstrated leadership experience in business services, operations and management credit at a financial institution.

License or Certificate:

  • Bondable
  • Acceptable Credit History

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $102,500-$153,900
