The AVP-Accounting is responsible for leading the Company's financial statement close of more than 130 healthcare campuses as well as our ancillary pharmacy, rehab and lab businesses. This individual should have a strong understanding U.S. generally accepted accounting principles, excellent project management skills, and experience in managing large teams. The AVP-Accounting will maintain and develop internal controls, standard operating procedures and financial processes, including increasing efficiencies within the Accounting Department. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Oversees the full monthly financial close process for all campuses and ancillary business units, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Uses analytical skills to evaluate financial results, identify key drivers and anomalies, and summarize findings to senior leaders.
  • Maintains financial records in accordance with GAAP and ensure consistent application across business units with the ability to write and defend technical memos.
  • Leads and executes process improvement initiatives, identifying and implementing efficiencies in financial operations, including automation opportunities and modernization of current practices.
  • Identifies and effectively communicates complex financial issues and analysis to executive stakeholders, including senior leaders, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and collaboration.
  • Partners cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other departments to drive alignment on financial practices and deliver actionable insights.
  • Applies sound judgment in making strategic decisions and recommendations, leveraging financial and operational data to inform business outcomes.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains robust internal controls, financial processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure financial integrity and operational efficiency.
  • Serves as a key liaison with internal and external auditors and other financial advisors.
  • Supports organizational compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor Degree
  • Experience: 8-12 years

Licenses and Certifications

  • CPA Required

Physical requirements


Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
