Avionics Engineer (Robins AFB, GA)

Pay: $145,000-155,000 Annual plus benefits Employment Type: Direct Placement We are seeking an experienced Avionics Engineer to support the development, integration,
testing, and certification of avionics systems for aircraft. The ideal candidate will work
closely with the avionics team to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, support
system design, and provide technical expertise throughout the lifecycle of avionics
subsystems. Key Responsibilities:
• Define and develop avionics subsystems, ensuring proper integration with other systems.
• Review and assess technical documents to ensure compliance with specifications and airworthiness standards.
• Conduct system design feasibility studies and assessments of state-of-the-art technologies.
• Support testing and certification of Communication, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) systems.
• Define CNS/ATM system requirements and assist in compliance with regulations and policies.
• Attend technical reviews and provide advice on hardware/software integration and installation processes.
• Ensure all new hardware and software meet regulatory standards for installation and operation.
• Assist in system design and analysis, ensuring feasibility and compliance with operational requirements.
• Evaluate avionics technologies and support cutting-edge development to enhance system capabilities. ,
• Apply airworthiness processes to ensure systems meet safety standards.
• Conduct risk assessments, safety analysis, and provide recommendations to mitigate potential hazards.
• Translate user requirements into system requirements and assist in developing test plans.
• Support testing and certification of avionics systems, including performance and airworthiness evaluations.
• Analyze equipment and software deficiencies, recommending corrective actions.
• Assist in the development and integration of solutions to resolve deficiencies in avionics systems.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including engineering studies, test plans, and acquisition strategies.
• Support milestone preparation and provide inputs for staff summaries, executive briefings, and other program-related documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure avionics systems are developed, tested, and integrated according to project requirements.
• Participate in project team meetings, technical interchange meetings, and other reviews as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with military and FAA airworthiness regulations, including MIL- HDBK-516C.
• Assist in generating and maintaining airworthiness reports and supporting documentation. Required Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an ABET accredited engineering discipline, and fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) years of which must be in the DoD.
• Knowledge of avionics engineering in support of avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, verification methods.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required
