CornerStone Staffing has partnered with The City of Dallas, Department of Aviation, seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented college student for a summer internship.

This internship is tailored to align with the intern's academic path and career interests. The role will focus on one or more of the following areas: general procurement, ADA and Title IV compliance, construction DBE monitoring, and outreach.

Job Title: Aviation Procurement Services Intern - Summer Internship
Location: Department of Aviation, City of Dallas
Pay Rate: $21.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Overview

This internship provides valuable experience in various aspects of government procurement, including general procurement, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Title IV compliance, construction, airport concessions, disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) subcontracting, monitoring, and outreach. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to government spending and reporting projects at Dallas Love Field Airport.

Essential Functions

  • Participate in site audits, vendor outreach, and meetings.

  • Assist the procurement team with data entry, administration, compliance, and report generation.

  • Research and compile market data to support subcontractor participation in construction projects.

  • Prepare presentations and communication materials for internal and external audiences.

  • Conduct research on industry trends and best practices in government procurement, aviation, ADA, DBE/ACDBE, and Title IV.

  • Assist with vendor outreach initiatives.

  • Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance, as this is an essential function of the role.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent analytical and research skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.

  • Ability to interact diplomatically with City officials and City of Dallas staff at all levels.

  • Interest in public administration, general procurement, ADA and Title IV compliance, and construction DBE monitoring is a plus.


Education & Experience

  • Current undergraduate college or university student in good standing pursuing a degree in a relevant field with strong analytical and research skills.

  • Preferred but not required: Prior work experience in procurement, ADA compliance, Title IV, construction DBE monitoring, or outreach.
