The Classroom Technology Services team is a highly collaborative group searching for an AV Systems Designer & Programmer to integrate our classroom projects. This role combines expertise in audio-visual systems engineering, control systems programming, and project management. The successful candidate will lead AV integration projects from conception to completion, ensuring technical excellence, on-time delivery, and end-user experience. The work schedule for this position is 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
• Under general direction, coordinate the efforts of the ISC Classroom Technology Services team, university project managers, computer and audiovisual contractors, architects, and design consultants for new and replacement audiovisual and computer technology installations in the 200+ classrooms within the university's central pool.
• Design classroom technology configurations and provide appropriate design and standards documentation to project managers and vendors.
• Lead efforts to recommend technology standards for central pool classrooms.
• Research and develop new concepts for instructional technology implementation.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware and software.
• Oversee programming of all audiovisual technology components.
• Address technical requests and problems personally or through assignment to outside vendors, contractors, or consultants.
• Serve as a technical mentor and trainer, sharing expertise with peers and guiding the team in adopting cutting-edge technology.
• Act as a visionary leader, staying ahead of industry trends to drive innovation and excellence.
• Provide ongoing technical leadership for local support personnel and end-users. Install, upgrade, configure, maintain, and repair computers and related audiovisual equipment as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor of Science and minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience installing, maintaining, repairing, and supporting classroom audiovisual equipment, computers, and control systems; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Proficiency with computer-aided design software in producing audiovisual flow diagrams
• Proficiency in compiling a Bill of Materials, Scope of Work, and compiling Request for Proposals
• Prior experience overseeing projects and working with the integration project managers, ensuring the projects remain on task and drive forward to successful completion.
• Q-SYS Designer Level 2.
• Advanced proficiency in replacing and configuring all components comprising a Central Pool classroom AV system.
• Extensive technical knowledge and experience in operating proprietary software and/or web-UI pages (Crestron Toolbox, Q-SYS Designer, Panasonic web-UI, and Dante Controller) embedded in the AV components used in Central Pool classrooms.
• Experience with Installation and configuration of Crestron and QSC control systems.
• Core understanding of audio signal flow, gain structure, and EQ Proper image alignment of video projectors.
• Experience terminating AV connections for purposes of making field repairs (Cat-5/Cat-6 to punch-down jacks or RJ-45 plugs, soldered audio connections, and captive screw connections).
• Prior experience replacing AV system cables using proper cable-management techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; ability to present technical materials.
• Strong customer service orientation and has worked with various customers and colleagues, delivering exemplary technical suppor
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
• Experience in an academic environment
• Certified in the following areas: AVIXA Certified Technology, Specialist - Design (CTS-D), Q-SYS Control 201, Dante Level 3

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
