Automotive Technician Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle repairs and diagnostics efficiently and accurately according to factory and dealership standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections to determine causes of mechanical issues and complete authorized repairs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all services performed.
- Collaborate with the parts department to identify and secure required components.
- Road test vehicles when necessary to verify repairs.
- Stay current with technical service bulletins and manufacturer updates.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Report any equipment or tool issues to the service manager.
Automotive Technician Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience; GM, Chevy, or Ford experience strongly preferred.
- Strong diagnostic capabilities, including work on transmissions, rear axles, and other complex systems.
- Must supply own tools; tool bonus/allowance provided to support replacements and upgrades.
- Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to lift 50-80 pounds and perform physical tasks required in an active service bay.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and insurability under company policy.
