Key Responsibilities: Diagnosis: Identify and pinpoint the cause of vehicle problems through inspections, diagnostic tools, and by listening to customer descriptions. Repair: Perform necessary repairs, which can range from routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations) to complex mechanical or electrical repairs. Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance work to keep vehicles running smoothly and efficiently, including fluid changes, lubrication, and inspections. Parts Management: Communicate with the parts department to order necessary components for repairs. Customer Communication: Explain vehicle issues and repair options to customers, providing clear and concise information. Record Keeping: Document all repairs and maintenance performed on the vehicle. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards, including OSHA regulations. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on the latest vehicle technologies and repair techniques through ongoing training and education. Skills and Qualifications: Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of automotive systems, including engines, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, and electronic control modules. Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to work with hand tools and power tools, and to perform physical tasks such as lifting and manipulating parts. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to diagnose vehicle problems, analyze situations, and develop effective solutions. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and supervisors. Customer Service Skills: Ability to provide excellent customer service, including explaining repairs and providing estimates. Safety Awareness: Awareness of safety procedures and the ability to work in a safe and organized environment.
