Job Summary:
The Quality Engineer ensures that company products and processes meet established quality standards by identifying gaps, developing corrective actions, and implementing quality control systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive mindset to consistently maintain or exceed quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues using statistical, analytical, and advanced problem-solving tools.
- Recommend and implement cost-effective, permanent corrective actions.
- Analyze internal and external quality data to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve issues beyond plant control.
- Manage engineering changes and coordinate cross-functional teams for timely execution.
- Review product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of changes prior to implementation.
- Recommend and validate rework procedures.
- Develop inspection procedures and establish quality best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or a related Engineering field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 1 year (3 years preferred) of experience in Automotive Engineering, Engineering Quality, or Manufacturing Quality.
- Experience with problem-solving tools and statistical analysis.
- Proficient in MS Office and G-Suite applications.
- Strong ability to collect, analyze, and present quality data effectively.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Strong critical thinking, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for vehicle testing).
Preferred Experience:
- Exposure to electronics such as electronic control units (ECUs), control modules, switches, key fobs, wiring, radios, displays, batteries, starters, alternators, Body Control Modules, navigation units, connectivity modules, backup cameras, and parking sensors.
- Experience in product and process development within an automotive or manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation.
- Ability to lead and coordinate cross-functional engineering teams focused on quality and supplier development.
