The Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME) will take a leadership role in driving the transition of new products from prototype to high-volume production. The Senior AME will work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and key performance metrics, including safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while providing mentorship and strategic guidance to junior engineers and production teams.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with design engineers to develop new products, focusing on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) principles.
- Optimize manufacturing processes, including production workflows, assembly methods, and equipment, while creating detailed work instructions and providing team training to ensure compliance with standards.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, with a focus on electromechanical components and systems.
- Develop and validate poka-yoke solutions and fixturing to reduce process variation and enhance assembly efficiency.
- Address electrical and mechanical challenges, ensuring reliable system performance and functionality.
- Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce cycle times, and cut costs by eliminating non-value-added activities.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure that engineering part drawings are thoroughly reviewed and approved.
- Use problem-solving techniques to advocate for customers, identify root causes of quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process from initiation through successful implementation.
- Design tooling and fixtures, ensuring a safe, efficient production flow.
- Assess part criticality based on design requirements and its impact on overall system performance.
- Conduct first article inspections and qualifications for both internally machined and externally sourced parts as needed.
- Implement AQL-based sampling plans to ensure part compliance and hold suppliers accountable for quality.
- Design and assess product packaging to meet ISTA standards, ensuring safety and durability.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer role or a similar technical position.
- Expertise in SolidWorks for both 2D drawing and 3D modeling.
- Strong knowledge of the integration of electrical controls with mechanical systems.
- In-depth experience with electrical components and their integration into electromechanical systems, including troubleshooting and test procedure creation.
- Extensive background in manufacturing, engineering, and quality improvement methodologies, such as FMEA, Design for Manufacturability (DfM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and variation reduction techniques.
- Proficient in mechanical inspection using precision instruments like calipers, force gauges, and other hand tools.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with CAD software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.
