Job Title: Automation QA Analyst - Public Sector Projects

About the Role
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking an experienced Automation QA Analyst to support a large-scale technology modernization initiative for a public sector client in the education space. This role sits within the agency's Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) team and is responsible for testing complex web applications within an Agile development environment.
As an Automation QA Analyst, you'll play a key role in developing and executing test strategies, writing detailed test cases, performing manual and automated tests, and identifying opportunities to streamline quality assurance processes. This position requires strong hands-on skills in automation frameworks, SQL, and defect management tools, as well as excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
You'll analyze user stories and design documents to write robust test plans and test cases. You'll be expected to execute both automated and manual tests, write and run SQL queries, and document results with precision. You'll collaborate daily with developers, testers, and business analysts, translating functional requirements into test scenarios and clearly communicating any issues or defects.
You'll also support agile sprints, help scope testing effort, participate in defect triage, and ensure application releases meet quality standards.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 7+ years of experience testing complex web applications
- Proven ability to design and execute test cases across the full SDLC
- Strong SQL skills for data validation
- At least 2 years of hands-on automation testing experience
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, or BDD preferred)
- Familiarity with performance testing tools such as WAPT Pro is a plus
- Experience with JIRA and Zephyr Scale is preferred
- Previous experience testing CRM systems is a bonus
