Automation Engineer

Job Title: Automation Engineer Location: Hampton, GA About the Role: Our client has an awesome direct hire opportunity for an Automation Engineer who's ready to dive into a diverse role. You'll be involved in everything from programming and customer support to electric grid automation and hands-on work with fabrication equipment. If you're eager to learn and comfortable getting your hands dirty, this is a fantastic chance to grow. You'll be: Programming Controllers: Designing and configuring automation controller (relay) programming. Supporting Customers: Providing top-notch customer support. Working with Electric Grids: Configuring, installing, and supporting Electric Grid Automation systems. Supporting Production: Troubleshooting and resolving issues on the production floor. Providing Engineering Support: Assisting all members of the division with their engineering needs. Training: Educating both internal employees and customers on automation equipment. Partnering with Fabrication: Ensuring the fabrication process runs smoothly and assisting with equipment adjustments. Who You Are: You have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. You're a natural troubleshooter and willing to work closely with the fabrication team. You're comfortable training others on how to use automation equipment. You're open to learning and growing in a dynamic environment. Required Skills: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology. Ability to troubleshoot and willingness to work closely with the fabrication team. Comfortable assisting with the training of groups on how to utilize automation equipment. Willingness to travel up to 25% (though not expected to be frequent). Preferred Qualifications: Power Systems focus. SCADA knowledge. Reclosers knowledge. Knowledge of distribution power grid. Knowledge of SEL relays.
