Senior Automation Engineer
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Compensation Range: $100,000 - $130,000
About the Opportunity:
A dynamic technology-driven manufacturing organization is searching for skilled Controls & Automation Engineer. This role involve partnering with cross-functional teams spanning software engineering, IT infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and automation to create and deploy sophisticated control solutions within high-tech production environments.
Primary Duties:
- Work closely with diverse technical teams to deliver seamless automation integration
- Architect and document the logic framework for control systems
- Program and deploy PLC logic for bespoke automated production lines
- Integrate and configure a variety of control devices: sensors, distributed I/O, motion controllers, safety circuits, vision systems, barcode scanners, and operator interfaces
- Employ industrial networking standards (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet TCP/IP) for system connectivity
- Participate in equipment commissioning, fault analysis, and ongoing optimization efforts
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field (automation, electrical, mechanical, computer, or software engineering)
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- 5+ years' experience, including complex automation initiatives
- Demonstrated expertise with Rockwell Automation PLC platforms
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Structured Text, Function Block, and Sequential Function Charts
- Broad experience with automation hardware and industrial interfaces
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet TCP/IP)
Desired Skills:
- Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- In-depth experience with specific robotic automation systems
- Familiarity with alternative PLC platforms (e.g., Productivity Suite, Automation Direct)
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
