JOB TITLE: Automation Controls Engineer
DURATION: Long-term contract
LOCATION: On-site in Auburn, WA
REQUIRED SKILLS + EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related engineering field
- 5+ years of experience in an engineering role
- 5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation control systems - preferably with Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley hardware and software
- 3+ years of experience reading & understanding engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- 1+ years of experience using Autodesk AutoCAD (or similar 2D CAD package)
Nice to Haves:
- 10+ years of experience supporting industrial automation control systems.
- 5+ years of experience with Rockwell Automation hardware and software.
- 3+ years of experience working with industrial automation systems for cranes and/or chemical process systems.
- Experience configuring control networks including Ethernet and Serial Communication
- Ability to program in ladder logic, function block diagram, statement list or similar languages.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provide Controls Engineering guidance in the design, development, procurement, modification, and maintenance of industrial automation systems.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Project Management teams.
- Develop conceptual designs, rough cost estimates, and preliminary project schedules to meet the needs of customers, engineering partners, facility standards, outside consultants, and regulatory/government agencies.
- Review, approve, and verify industrial automation system designs and installs comply with requirements and regulations.
- Support the accuracy of system documentation and drawing libraries through internal and external projects. Created CAD drawings and documentation that adhere to facility standards. Review contractor control drawing redline submittals after construction is complete and verifies redlines are incorporated into as-built drawings.
- Provide input to strategic, short-term, and long-term infrastructure planning, recommending improvements as needed. Works with both internal and external partners to identify and assess alternatives and impacts.
