CAD Designer (Civil Site Layouts for EV Charging Stations) - 632969

Richmond, Atlanta, Charlotte or Raleigh


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer to complete civil site layouts for EV charging stations across the U.S. The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills and the ability to read site surveys to produce detailed site plans, including parking lot layouts, grading, and stormwater design. Previous experience with commercial and/or retail projects is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design civil site layouts for EV charging stations, focusing on parking lot layouts, grading, and stormwater management.
  • Use AutoCAD to create 2D site plans for EV charging installations.
  • Collaborate with a Design/Build Team or Communications Utility Team in Raleigh to ensure the accuracy and functionality of designs.
  • Work on commercial and retail site projects, installing chargers at existing facilities, such as gas stations, convenience stores, retail spaces, coffee shops, and chain restaurants.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including ADA requirements for parking lots and other design considerations.
  • Contribute to the creation of electrical layouts for charging stations (standard layouts, no advanced electrical design required).

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in commercial and/or retail civil site design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D).
  • Experience in creating civil site plans, including parking lots, grading, and stormwater designs.
  • A 2-year associate's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.

Additional Information:

  • No prior experience with EV charging stations required.
  • The position involves working on a large-scale, multi-year project to build a national EV charging network across the U.S.
  • Wireless telecom designers with civil site layout experience may also be considered for this role.
