Position Overview


The Audit Supervisor serves as a key leadership role within our audit department, managing multiple complex engagements simultaneously while developing staff and maintaining strong client relationships. This position requires technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts for both team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate multiple audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring quality control and adherence to firm methodologies
  • Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to achieve efficient and profitable project delivery
  • Direct, mentor, and evaluate audit seniors and staff, providing constructive feedback to support their professional growth
  • Review audit workpapers and financial statements for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards
  • Identify and resolve complex technical accounting and auditing issues, consulting with partners when appropriate
  • Lead client meetings to discuss audit progress, findings, and recommendations
  • Develop and strengthen client relationships as a trusted business advisor
  • Draft and review management letters and other client deliverables
  • Participate in risk assessment procedures and engagement planning
  • Identify value-added services and cross-selling opportunities
  • Contribute to firm initiatives, including staff training, recruitment, and proposal development
  • Stay current with evolving accounting standards, regulations, and industry developments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of progressive public accounting experience with emphasis on audit
  • Active CPA license required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience supervising engagement teams of 3-5 professionals
  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency with audit software, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership abilities and talent development experience
  • Industry specialization experience in one or more areas (manufacturing, financial services, nonprofit, healthcare) preferred
  • Experience with single audits and/or SOC reports a plus
