We have three openings. Each of the positions will work with two schools. Two of the positions will work with our elementary schools and middle school in Marina and one of the positions will be split between two elementary schools in Seaside. These are grant funded positions for a project titled "Promoting Attendance through Collaboration and Compassionate Systems." The project is aimed at improving attendance by working with families to address the root causes of absenteeism and by utilizing proven strategies to reduce chronic absenteeism. Our ideal candidate is someone with strong inter personal skills who is able to meet families where they are at both literally and figuratively. Besides having the needed compassion to support families, applicants should be comfortable doing home visits and meeting with parents and guardians in the community. The workday for these positions is 8:00am-4:30pm Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and 11:00am-7:00pm Tuesdays and Thursdays. The modified workday on Tuesdays and Thursdays is so that our specialists can meet with families in the evening who are otherwise unavailable during the day due to their work schedule.
