Athletic Administrative Assistant

Northern High School

Reports To: Athletic Director and Principal
Salary: Starting at Pay Grade 5, $19.05 per hour
Schedule: 44 Weeks / 8 hours per day

Job Summary: The Athletic Administrative Assistant is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the
Athletics department and maintaining good public relations with students, parents, community and staff.

Qualifications:
  • Exceptionally proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Strong customer service and administrative skills required
  • Able to maintain confidentiality in regards to all areas of involvement relative to athletic department matters
  • At least two years of administrative experience preferred
  • Background in athletics preferred
  • First aid and CPR knowledge preferred
Essential Job Functions:
  • Screen phone calls and schedule appointments as needed.
  • Receive and assist visitors, coaches, and guests.
  • Assist in coordinating all school athletic activities.
  • Maintain payroll records for all athletic department staff.
  • Receive, organize, categorize and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Process all necessary forms for school procedures: i.e., staff conferences, accident reports, eligibility forms, M.H.S.A.A. reports, insurance forms, etc.
  • Assist the Athletic Director and/or coaches with home hosted tournaments: i.e., conference, district, regional, and state (M.H.S.A.A.).
  • Assist in coordinating parent meetings each season for coaching staff.
  • Process and maintain athletic budget and purchase orders.
  • Maintain and monitor the Athletic Booster accounts.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or
feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy
environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required
by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or
outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.

Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally
and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and
negotiate.

Evaluation:
In accordance with the Administrative Support Staff Agreement.
