Role Purpose:
Allwyn operates a Three Lines of Defence model: First line Functional Management & Staff, Second line Functional Compliance, Risk & Insurance, and Central Compliance, and Third Line Internal Audit. As part of the first line, you will participate and feed into the Central Second line and Third line of Defence's risk universe to enable an aligned and integrated assurance approach. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the functions and the wider Assurance team to implement a robust, forward-looking Assurance framework. This role supports the following functions: Technology, Data, and Security.
Role Responsibilities:
Working with the Senior Assurance Manager to:
- Embed the Assurance, Compliance, and Risk frameworks and objectives across Technology, Data, and Security, with a focus on enhancing risk management, controls activity, real-time compliance, governance, outcomes, and monitoring activities.
- Execute Allwyn's Self-Assessment Programme, monitor progress, coverage, intervene when required, produce reports, and make recommendations; identify compliance risks associated with business activities; follow up on resolution of compliance issues.
- Maintain Risk Registers, proactively work with departments to identify new risks, and track emerging risks that may become operational risks.
- Support the Function to ensure effective implementation, execution, and monitoring of the wider National Lottery licence conditions and Matters to be Protected.
- Assist TD&S Function teams to provide assurance mainly to governance committees on the control environment's effectiveness.
- Support TD&S to keep Strategies, Policies, Processes, and Procedures current and fit for purpose.
- Help TD&S teams identify and meet company standards (align, adhere, accredit, etc.) and demonstrate best practices according to policy and reporting needs.
Key Measures of Success:
- Operating with integrity and maintaining independence.
- Assurance activities supported by proper documentation, peer reviews, and quality checks.
- TD&S risk register is up to date with appropriate sign-offs.
- Self-assessment activities are current and completed on schedule.
- Supporting Outcomes-Based Decision Making (OBDM) and broader business assurance requirements.
- Timely monthly reporting.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Audit, Risk, and Compliance.
- Highly analytical, intellectually agile, able to manage complexity quickly.
- High integrity and independence, with strong partnership skills to build trusting relationships.
- Collaborative, influential, and a good listener to build consensus.
- Excellent communication skills and executive presence.
- Strong assurance acumen and strategic mindset.
- Working knowledge of technology.
- Experience in a regulated environment.
