Job Description:


The Associate Vice President is responsible for the overall management of the College's information technology systems and services. This responsibility includes long- and short-term strategic planning for the evaluation, acquisition, and deployment of information technology related software, equipment, and services. The Associate Vice President also provides supervision and leadership of the Technology Services division staff.


The Associate Vice President is a member of the President's Executive Staff and is expected to provide critical leadership and strategic vision in a time of rapid change and disruption.


Essential Duties:


Plan and implement information technology systems and services for academic and administrative applications in support of the College's mission and strategic plans.


Manage the Technology Services operating and minor capital budgets and have fiscal responsibility for the division.


Supervise the End-User Computing Support Manager, Director of Information Systems, Director of Security and Infrastructure, and Director of Multimedia and Web Support Services.


Ensure the integrity of all operating systems against unauthorized or malicious access.


Collaborate with College Executive Staff and other divisional directors to plan, develop and implement technology projects college wide.


Assist College department heads with evaluation and procurement of information technology software, equipment, and services.


Work with vendors on information technology software, equipment, and services acquisitions and support contracts.


Participate in technology related planning for new construction and renovations.


Participate in College standing and ad-hoc committees.


Participate in appropriate industry organizations and conferences.


Maintain technical and professional skills through formal and informal training.



Requirements:


Master's Degree in Computer Science or related information technology field, that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.


Minimum of 7-10 years related experience managing a broad range of information technology services in higher education.


Experience with cloud-based systems and applications and with remote access for instruction and administrative activities.


Significant experience in vendor relations and contract negotiations.


A proven record of completing projects for software applications implementation.


Strong focus on customer service and ability to establish relationships with existing staff, faculty, students, and community members.


Highly self-motivated and directed, with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate staff, with excellent customer service and technical skills.


Proven organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; proven experience in IT planning and change management.


Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to staff members.


Ability to prioritize and execute tasks, make sound decisions in emergency situations and to multitask and handle challenging and stressful situations.


Preferred Qualifications:


Experience with the Ellucian Banner ERP system, Ellucian: Ethos, ILP; Experience; DegreeWorks; and Elevate.


Experience with Evisions systems, and Touchnet OneCard.


High level understanding of data standards.


Technical change management skills.


Knowledge of AI and AI applications in the higher education environment.


Entrepreneurial approach to provide innovative solutions for teaching and learning and for institutional efficiency.
