POSITION SUMMARY

The AVP of Education and Events is directly responsible for developing and coordinating the educational programs that advance FHA priorities. This person will also be responsible for organizing, directing, and managing virtual and in person events, conferences, and meetings. The AVP is required to work closely and collaboratively within the Association, and directly supervise education and events staff.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with FHA department leads to develop education and training seminars, conferences, and courses or series to assist FHA members on current issues, state/federal regulations, and emerging health care issues facing Florida, specific regions of the state, or other targeted audience.


Excellent time management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, proactively, and follows through on the planning and execution of events to successful completion.


Excellent customer service skills to ensure member, speakers, panelists, partners and collaborators are treated respectfully and needs are met.


Ability to create and maintain budgets.


Ability to think quickly and solve problems both in planning and at onsite events with minimal interruption to operations.


Proficient in project management applications and tools (e.g. Smartsheets, Asana, Trello, or others)


Work with business development team, sponsors, and vendors to align education and event offerings maximize sponsorship opportunities.


Work closely with communications on marketing efforts to promote events and presentation and promotional materials provided during events.


Oversee and evaluate post conference and event survey data to ensure all offerings meet the needs and expectations of participants, sponsors, and overall FHA goals.


Evaluate outside education and training opportunities to determine interest from FHA hospitals.


Manage teams and outside vendors that produce virtual and in-person events.


Supervise education and event team members.


Minimum Qualifications


A bachelor's degree with 5-7 years' experience, preferably with a focus on education and training in a hospital or health care setting. Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) credential preferred. Requires excellent written and verbal communication and analytic skills.
