- Six or more years of increasingly responsible experience in university administration, including supervision of staff.
- Solid organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Substantial experience with large-scale student information systems.
- Proven skills necessary to make data-informed decisions.
- Six or more years of experience working in Student Information Systems, FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), and University policies and procedures
- Ability to perform basic math, read and understand student data, and explain policies and procedures clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:- A master's degree with significant academic operations experience, providing a deeper understanding of university administration and strategic planning.
- Experience managing Veteran Affairs Benefits and NCAA Certification, demonstrating expertise in these critical areas.
- Experience and comprehensive understanding of degree audit tools.
- Experience or familiarity with Ellucian Banner, CourseLeaf CLSS, 25Live, or Degree Works course evaluation software, showcasing the ability to work with advanced student information systems and/or course management tools.
- Prior experience working in a registrar's office within a university environment ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the unique challenges and responsibilities associated with this role.
Job Description:This Associate University Registrar is one of three Associates who will play a crucial role in supporting the University Registrar and the leadership team in making our office more innovative and efficient. This position provides administrative and supervisory services in the management of a specific function within our office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance: Responsible for compliance requirements and implementing procedures to ensure that our office adheres to institutional, state, and federal guidelines. This includes ensuring compliance in areas such as Athletic Certification, Veteran Benefits Certification, and other relevant compliance matters that pertain to our office. This will also include coordinating with outside offices during audits, working directly with auditors, and providing a thorough explanation/understanding of current processes.
- Leadership and Supervision: Directly reports to the University Registrar and forms part of the leadership team. The Associate University Registrar will manage and supervise key unit staff, including the Veteran Affairs Benefits and NCAA Certification team, with full authority to hire, assign work, train, and evaluate the performance of each lead.
- Strategic Planning: Actively participate in strategic planning for our unit, contributing to the development and implementation of initiatives that enhance our services.
- Policy Review and Improvement: Review and propose policies and practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our office. Ensures compliance with university, state, and federal policies and deadlines.
This role is essential in driving the continuous improvement of our office operations and ensuring that we meet the needs of our students and stakeholders effectively.
Job Duties:- Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Deliver reports to the University Registrar on Veteran Affairs Benefits processing by semester, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide semester reports on NCAA Certification processing to the University Registrar, maintaining compliance and excellence.
- Supervise and evaluate staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Ensure teams consistently maintain and update their procedure manuals, promoting best practices and operational efficiency.
- Manage and coordinate requests for data pertinent to assigned duties, ensuring seamless information flow and transparency.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and innovation of the Registrar's Office.
