General Job Summary

This position is responsible for partnering with General Managers and District Managers to provide an outstanding level of service, leadership and expertise of Loss Prevention, Safety and Environmental functions throughout the stores located in the districts the Associate Regional Loss Prevention Manager supports.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures that loss prevention, safety and environmental compliance standards are maintained through auditing, training, and comprehensive store visits.
  • Investigates known losses and coordinates with law enforcement to pursue prosecution. Formulates a plan of action to reduce external theft and fraud activity.
  • Conducts all aspects of criminal investigations. Coordinate and conduct interviews. Effectively documents actions taken.
  • Analyzes exception and system reports to identify losses.
  • Conduct store training and audits to ensure stores meet operational compliance guidelines.
  • Recommends actions that reduce company exposure to losses via thefts, fraud, embezzlement, etc.
  • Must stay current with new fraudulent activities that may breach the organization's security measures.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for all security programs and processes within the retail store group. This would include expertise in all physical security, alarm systems, CCTV, and other merchandise protection applications.
  • Conducts safety inspections and safety awareness training.
  • Develops and fosters an open line of communication with all levels of management.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the Loss Prevention field.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years retail loss prevention or retail management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Investigation, interview, and interrogation skills required (Wicklander & Zulawski or Reid Training) preferred.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office, MS Excel and POS Exception reporting.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Approximately 30% overnight travel required.
  • Ability to work independently. Self-directed and self-motivated.
  • Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity.
  • A certain degree of physical strength and agility is required (lifting and climbing).
  • Travel required.
