Job Description

The Project Management team at SonoThera is seeking a highly motivated Associate Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of research initiatives within a dynamic gene therapy start-up environment. This role will support the day-to-day operations of cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient collaboration, alignment with strategic objectives, and adherence to project timelines to drive successful execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects in biotechnology, life sciences, or the pharmaceutical industry, coupled with a passion for driving the advancement of innovative therapies.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to track and manage project deliverables, ensuring timely execution.
  • Monitor project progress and timelines, providing regular status updates and key insights to the leadership team.
  • Identify potential risks and contribute to the development of proactive mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, schedules, and meeting records, to support transparency and accountability.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project management workflows.
  • Facilitate team meetings, ensuring key action items are documented, assigned, and completed within established deadlines.

Technical Requirements and Skills:

Proficient knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Familiarity with gene therapy, cell therapy, biologics, or drug development processes is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet and other Microsoft Suite applications).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred not required.
  • Knowledge of FDA and IND guidelines is a plus.

General Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • For bachelor's degree, 2-5 years of experience in project coordination or management within the biotech, and pharmaceutical industry. For master's degree, 1-3 years of experience in the above.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $102,096.00 to $139,650.00 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
