About the Position
We're looking for an Associate Product Manager to help shape the future of home inspection software. In this role, you'll support our largest team, focusing on inspection report writing-the heart of our platform. As we complete a major rebuild and move into the next phase of innovation, we need someone ready to dive in and help us reduce friction in this critical part of the home-buying process.
You'll play a key role in driving innovation in the report-writing experience, working closely with the team to prioritize impactful work, manage the backlog, and keep execution on track. Reporting to the team's Product Manager, you'll help streamline day-to-day operations while ensuring our tools empower small businesses and directly support home buyers.
Core Responsibilities
- Drive Impactful Product Enhancements: Own and prioritize the product backlog to fix key issues that create meaningful improvements to the user experiences and align with business goals. Establish a proactive system to tackle bugs and usability challenges, ensuring a seamless user journey.
- Turn Ideas into Action: Craft clear, detailed, and actionable tickets that empower the development team to bring product visions to life. Collaborate with the PM, design, and others to turn complex business needs into intuitive solutions.
- Gain Customer Insights: Learn how to dive into customer discovery by engaging directly with users to uncover pain points and opportunities for growth. Organize these insights to enable product decisions that make a real difference.
- Leverage Data For Good: Learn how to analyze product usage trends, and system performance metrics to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Turn data into actionable insights that shape product evolution.
- Understand and Measure Success: Partner closely with the PM to define and refine key performance indicators (KPIs), keeping a pulse on what drives success, continuously iterating for better results.
- Be a Force for Change: Embrace growth and play a key role in broader product initiatives. Whether it's streamlining processes, improving team efficiency, or supporting cross-functional efforts, you're ready to step up and make an impact.
Who You Are
- Experience: 1-2 years in a Product Owner, or Associate Product Manager role in SaaS startup or lean product organization.
- Customer Focused: Experience interviewing and working directly with customers to gain insights into their work, pain points, and experience.
- Data Informed: Experienced in finding and understanding metrics for user experience and product success. Looking for additional ways to incorporate data into the prioritization and discovery process, while balancing it with qualitative feedback.
- Skilled Prioritizer: Able to consider and weigh multiple competing priorities based on many factors including stakeholder input, user impact, effort, and business objectives.
- Desire to Learn: Deeply curious to understand more about our users, products, and processes. Consistently looking for opportunities to grow and apply learnings to our product process.
- Collaborative: Able to work well with others across teams and disciplines. Your role will involve working heavily with stakeholders across the organization.
- Effective Communicator: Can communicate succinctly and efficiently with both internal and external stakeholders. Can write detailed and clear tickets for developers based on business requirements and user expectations.
- Self-Starter: Able to identify and move on opportunities individually. Bringing value and improvements to the business and product organization with limited oversight.
We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every bullet point. We are people, not checklists, and we hire as such.
