The George L. Argyros College of Business and Economics at Chapman University invites applications for a Tenured Associate or Full Professor of Entrepreneurship beginning August 1, 2025.This position includes an initial three-year appointment as the Ralph W. Leatherby Chair in Entrepreneurship.Chapman University is a nationally-ranked, R2 Carnegie Classified, private institution offering traditional undergraduate and graduate programs in the heart of Orange County, one of Southern California's most diverse and vibrant regions. Chapman's campuses are home to nearly 10,000 students representing 50 states, three territories, and 87 countries. The 11 schools and college of Chapman, including the Argyros College of Business and Economics, offer 65 bachelors, 53 masters, and six doctoral programs, along with nearly 60 minors and 17 accelerated and bridge programs. Responsibilities
- Engage in scholarly research, leading to publications in high-quality journals.
- Teach a range of courses that reflect the specialty interests of the candidate and the needs of the college.
- Actively contribute as an integral member of the Argyros College faculty by engaging in department and university service as expected of an Associate or Full Professor.
- Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality courses.
- Offer regular office hours to provide students with opportunities for one-on-one consultations, academic advising, and clarification of course materials.
- Contribute to the overall mission of the institution by attending program meetings and supporting campus-wide initiatives and events.
- Serve on academic committees or task forces within the institution, contributing to discussions and decisions related to academic policies, curriculum development, and other relevant matters.
- Associate or Full Professors are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda and are evaluated on their research/scholarly/creative activity, teaching, and service.
Qualifications:- A Ph.D. in Management, Entrepreneurship, or other relevant discipline from an AACSB-accredited business school or equivalent for international applicants is required. (Note, official transcripts showing the conferral of degree are required prior to the start of employment.)
- Applications from all functional areas are encouraged with evidence of research related to entrepreneurship issues.
- Demonstrated ability for effective teaching in courses that reflect the specialty interests of the candidate and needs of the department at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Demonstrated potential for scholarship, as evidenced by journal publications and a well-defined research agenda for sustained publications in top-tier journals are also required.
- Successful candidates will have research records consistent with an appointment at full professor.
